Romans 5:2 – “Through him [Christ] we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God! God’s glory is timeless & limitless!

It is ‘Shekinah’ in its radiance and ‘Kabod’ in its weight!

You need both the weight and radiance to fully experience the joy of hope!

Pause & ponder!

Our joy is rooted in God’s glory.

What the root is to the tree, our hope in Christ is to our joy!

Let’s explore the root by the Spirit.

I read this:

“The first root that comes from a plant is called the radicle. A root’s four major functions are:

1) Absorption of water and inorganic nutrients,

2) Anchoring of the plant body to the ground, and supporting it,

3) Storage of food and nutrients,

4) Vegetative reproduction and competition with other plants.”

I read this in Kids’ Ecology:

“Roots are very important for the plant because they suck the water and nutrients up out of the soil and into the plant. But the roots are not only good for the plant, they are good for soil. When it rains, the roots hold the soil in place so it is not washed away.”

I ‘hope’ you see how ‘hope’ plays out! Hope sometimes lies beneath the surface and it is designed to connect (anchor) us to God and His glory (weight & radiance).

Hope draws life from the eternal God to sustain time bound saints!

Colossians 2:6-7 (ESV) – “Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”

Let’s pay attention to our spiritual roots and ask the Holy Spirit to draw our attention to unhealthy roots with determination to cut them off.

Let’s cultivate healthy roots in Christ as we pray, study His Word and relate with one another.

Rejoice in hope today & always!
